MAURICE This poor kitty had a wonderful male owner who unfortunately passed away. Even worse Maurice was in the apartment with him for 4 or 5 days until (excuse my mentioning the harsh reality) the smell alerted the neighbors who called the police. Ragdolls seem to be exceptionally sensitive and react strongly to change. The changes to He needed help. It is difficult for rescues to take older kitties because they are so much harder to find homes for (which means literally they fill up a foster's space for much longer which means other easier to adopt cats can't be rescued and may be euthanized because space isn't available for them.) These are tough decisions. This guy needed help immediately and we decided to trust that one of our wonderful adopters would speak up for him and help us and him. He started out hiding. Then when we let him out of his quarantine room he explored everything. Looked out of windows. He is a long, sleek cat and moves particularly beautifully. Classic Ragdoll build though not as hefty as most. If he was a horse you would say he has a wonderful gait. He's a very beautiful boy. In his new home I expect he will hide first before he comes out and makes friends. His adopter will need to expect that and be comfortable with waiting for the bond to develop. I don't think it will take long. He is friendly and likes to be petted and cuddled. His favorite game was Chase the Laser Light at night. Then he will sleep peacefully in bed with you. He would be a great companion for a single person who wanted that quiet companionship and could offer a quiet home. He is a CFA papered cat and we are getting his breeder's info. As you can see he is gorgeous. We think he is 11 but he may be younger. He looks younger. (We will check when we get his paperwork.) His eyes are the deepest blue and his fur soft and silky. I think he is a little thin perhaps from this recent ordeal. Someone will be lucky to have his companionship. He eats wet and dry and is litterbox perfect. His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
