OBERON
3 yo Silver Spotted Egyptian Mau

Oberon is one fabulous cat. He became comfortable in his new foster home within 24 hours and has become amazingly affectionate. He does the "Mau body roll" which is when the cat comes up, arches his head for petting and then throws himself down and rolls on his back, then back up again for you to pet his chin. So unique. He hasn't held still long enough for us to get a shot of those signature Egyptian Mau gooseberry green eyes, but you can see by his spots he is a high quality cat. His fur feels like a pelt, not like regular cat hair. It's so soft you wonder if you've even touched something real or if it's a whisper of your imagination. Although Obie is a happily neutered boy, he was originally purchased as a breeder quality cat. Since he was neutered and placed as a pet, he has gotten a bit lazy and has put on a bit of weight. It doesn't take away from his stunning good looks, and should be easily reduced with a healthy high protein diet and daily fun exercise. Judging by his speed a killing feather toys, we think he'll enjoy his exercise time. This is a GREAT cat!

Oberon is used to other cats, although he doesn't immediately enjoy strange cats. With proper introduction he should be fine with females and may be OK with other males. He's a Mau so there is some obligatory hissing when he sees other cats. Especially if they are getting petted by his new foster daddy. Obie is also getting used to large gentle dogs and they really don't seem to bother him a whole lot. This boy would also be fine as an only pet. He's just an easy going lover boy. Did we forget to mention this is an extraordinary cat?
