Wow. You'd never know by looking at "Tassie" that she's almost eleven
years old. For those of you who have been following Rolls Royce's
story, this is his daughter. They came from the same garage, the only
difference is that she lived there a couple years less and wasn't in
nearly as poor condition when we got her. The photos currently up are
those taken of her almost immediately upon coming to Rescue. We don't
know why she was so much less matted than Rolls, but we're happy that
she had some care during her lifetime. We know that taking in older
cats is a huge risk. They are much more fragile and prone to running
up expensive vet bills. But when faced with a situation such as this
where someone had died and the cats were in desperate conditions,
what were we to do? We hope and pray that a good person will find it
in their heart to adopt Tassie and give her a great next decade, as
folks have offered to do for Rolls.
Tas has a beautiful doll face, lovely green eyes, and a face that
requires minimal eye washing. Her coat is fairly light for a Persian
as is common in the silvers. We were able to carefully remove all of
her mats by hand so she required no shaving.
Tasmanian Angel is a name that fits her perfectly. One minute she's a
true angel, and then next she's a diva. She will be best as an only
cat, although we are trying to see if she is willing to cohabitate
with another cat or two. Tassie likes to be petted but is quite firm
with you when she's had enough. We're working on figuring out what "too much" means to her, and also working with her to be more patient
with her human slaves. She should go to a home with no small
children, but might be OK with gentle dogs.
We'd love to find a great foster home for Tas while she's staying
Rescue so she doesn't have to live in a cage ever again. If you are
interested either in fostering, adopting, or sponsoring her
veterinary care, please contact us!
