PERSIAN & HIMALAYAN
We just posted five new Persians to the "25 Persians in
Crisis" page. These are cats that weren't initially being allowed out
of the house. With another large scale crisis involving this breed we
are desperately hoping to get the remaining cats from this situation
placed. Please help us help these cats.

JULIA: 2-3 yo Golden Tabby Persian. Julia is one beautiful cat. She is little and probably doesn't weigh over 5 lbs right now. Don't let these terrible pictures fool you. She had just gotten her bath and was getting ready to make the long trip to her foster home in Santa Cruz. Not the happiest moment in her life. More...

TASMANIAN ANGEL: Persian, born 6/1/97, CFA Registered. Tas has a beautiful doll face, lovely green eyes, and a face that requires minimal eye washing. Her coat is fairly light for a Persian as is common in the silvers. More...

SANTOS: 5 yo Sealpoint Himalayan. Santos is a beautiful cat with a thick cottony coat. He loves to be gently groomed and doesn't even mind a bath upon occasion. Rare occasion for the bath, as far as he's concerned, but he does tolerate it. Santos is a gentle boy who really deserves a home of his own. More...

LILLYBELLE: 11 years young white Persian. Lili is a tiny girl with a big personality. They tell us she's 11 years old but it's hard to believe, because she is such an energetic and playful girl. She loves watching the world out the window and playing kitty games like "Hide in the Bag" and "Chase the Toy on a String". More...

CALYPSO: 7 yo +/- Tortie Persian. Calypso is Cat #5 from the 25 Persians in Crisis page. She was initially listed as being extremely shy and untouchable. While that was the case when we first met her, that certainly isn't true now! She has blossomed since coming to Rescue and just loves the attention and any affection or playtime she can get. It only took her a few days to start greeting her foster mom at the door. More...

WHISPER: 4-5 yo Blue-eyed White Persian. Front paw declaw. Whisper has ice blue eyes, and a super flat face. His little tongue sticks out and he snuffles when he breathes. Yup! He's the perfect Persian! Probably even show quality in his day. More...

SALVIA: 4-5 yo Shaded Silver Persian. This tiny little punkin is a heart stealer. when you first come to visit, she's nowhere to be found. After you've been hanging out for a bit, you'll suddenly notice you've got a new buddy sitting on the couch with you. Once she's there she'll roll over for tummy rubs, and just want more loving. HEIDI: 5-7 yo Tortie Point Himalayan. I am very chatty when I am being petted. I do hide under the bed at my foster mom's because I do not like her other cats or dogs. I am slowly coming out from under the bed more often. I am a great eater and not picky about my food. I am wonderful with the litter box and never have any accidents. PIXIE: Born approx May 2007. Shaded Silver Persian. Very tiny tiny girl. Super sweet but still quite shy. She comes for treats and her foster mom can hold her, but not for long. She needs her eyes cleaned daily. Will sleep on the pillow once she knows you. MUST go to a home with another cat. More...

GINO: 5 yo Blue Persian. Gino is a hoot. He's a playful boy, and a big loving lump of a cat. He has quite the charming personality and also very affectionate. He gets along with dogs although he's not afraid to put them in their place if they get into his personal space. He gets along with some cats, but will be aggressive with adult males. He would be great as an only cat or with a confident playful female. More...

BILLIE: 5-8 yo Shaded Silver Persian. Billie came to us from Oregon along with 4 other shaded silver Persians. We believe she is the mom to the other cats. A great lady came along and adopted Billie and one of her daughters. Sadly, Billie didn't get along with the other cats in the home, even her own daughter. More...

ZILLY: 5-6 yo Tabby & White Exotic Shorthair Persian. Silly Zilly. What a GREAT cat she is. We love having her around. She is fun loving, quirky, and full of loving. You would think she's a kitten the way she plays. She loves her people and loves to have her face rubbed. She will even grab your hand and lick it herself, and then rub her head against your hand. TRIP: 5+ yo Blue Point Himalayan. Front paw declaw. Trip was adopted by a nice lady several months ago. Sadly, the adoption didn't work out so he's had to come back to foster care. In his adoptive home, the original cat was picking on Trip and he was getting very depressed. He would just sit in a box by the window all day. He had stopped getting on the bed for loving, and his adopter was quite worried about him. More...

GAMBINO: Red & White copper eyed Persian. Gambino is cat #17 of the 25 Persians in Crisis. He had spent his entire life living in a 4x2x2 cage. On July 20, 2008 Gambino took his first steps. He got to spend time in our safe indoor atrium. Shortly thereafter he went to a foster home where he will get to live as a "real cat" until he finds his forever home. See his late August Update...

SMOOSHY: 2 yo Female Smoke Persian. Smooshy is a pistol!  She definately knows how to get you laughing.  She is a petite thing about 5lbs. but her spunky personality is quite large!  She loves to play, goes absolutely nuts for the laser pointer.  She will throw herself at the wall trying to catch that little red dot and she does not give up.  Full of determination.  And when you get tired she will entertain herself batting around mice, chasing balls, tearing up catnip pillows, leaping at bugs.   More...

I've been adopted! My guardian angel is coming to take me to my new home and I am so excited! I've enjoyed my time in foster care, sprawling out on the couch and resting my head on my foster mom's lap, but I am just beside myself in anticipation of going to my new home!

FRANGELICA: 11 y/o Seal Pt. Himalayan. Darling little Frangelica is one of the 75 Persian and Himalayans in crisis. BOSTON CHARLIE: 2-4 yo Male Black & White Bicolor Persian. A kind couple picked him up at an elementary school thin, ill, filthy, un-neutered, and lonely and lost. Medicated, neutered, vaccinated and cleaned up he would have had a home except the couple's autistic 6 year old son would pet him and then throw him, repeatedly. Charlie was too obliging and too needy for love to keep his distance from the child so he was given into rescue. More..
